WC Rugby point system is weird

As you can see among Rugby World Cup rules there is one as follows:

'Teams are awarded four points for a win, two points for a draw and none for a defeat. A team scoring four or more tries in one match will score a bonus point, as will a team who lose by seven points or fewer.'

It means there are... nine possible ways of point distribution!

win-lose
1) 4:0 e.g. 13:5
2) 5:0 e.g. 30:3 (tries: 4:0)
3) 4:1 e.g. 13:10
4) 5:1 e.g. 30:24 (tries: 4:3)
5) 5:2 e.g. 40:34 (tries: 6:4)
6) 4:2 e.g. 30:24 (tries: 3:4)

draw
7) 2:2 e.g. 7:7
8) 3:3 e.g. 30:30 (tries: 4:4)
9) 3:2 e.g. 30:30 (tries: 4:3)

Maybe something similar in football?

'Teams are awarded two points for a win, one point for a draw and none for a defeat. A team scoring three or more goals in one match will score a bonus 0.5 point, as will a team who lose by one goal.'

Looks good!
